CASE STUDIES

CASE 2:

Leggings with built-in knee braces

Knee Leggings.png

Many students who wear a knee brace on a regular basis feel uncomfortable due to unwanted attention. We designed and prototypes a legging that would have built-in knee braces so that no one would feel self-conscious when others might notice the physical disability one might have. We are currently refining our prototype and trying to reach out to manufacturers to distribute this product. Read more about our work here.

IPAD AERIES.png

Milpitas High School uses Aeries to inform students about graduation requirements, grades and attendance. Aeries isn't the most intuitive to operate, leading many students to be in the dark about graduation requirements and performance in school. We interviewed multiple candidates to uncover and learn about their problems using Aeries. These learnings helped us reimagine what tomorrow's grading portal could look like.

As a result of growing populations in Silicon Valley, Milpitas often has an unpleasant odor from nearby landfills, reducing the quality of life for all South Bay citizens. To remedy this problem, Hidden Lake Ventures is working on creating a crowdsourced heat-map of odor complaints that any resident can contribute to. City officials will be able to use the gathered data in concert with public policy to improve the odor situation.
